Can You Remember These 7 Websites?

Like now days, most of our childhood time was spent online on popular websites and chatting to our friends via chat rooms. But now as we are growing up, childhood seems like only a distant memory.
I often think and reminisce about the websites I used to waste my time on while I was younger.
Can you relate, or add any further websites to those in the list below?

1. Piczo
Piczo
Can anyone else remember spending most of your time after school on your Piczo website? This used to be a personal favourite of mine, I even got experimental and started adding HTML code into mine to make it look ‘colourful’, or adding some music to my page which is totally cringe now I think back. I used to spend many hours of my night looking at piczo websites full of HTML and themes that you can add to your page.
Swapping website names with most people in your school year and frequently checking for updates is one thing I miss the most. Anyone else used to create a rate page to your website of different girls and boys you knew and the ‘fittest’ and the ‘lushest’ would be voted the winners? Unfortunately if you had a website on this site then it is no longer able for access, the website closed down in 2012, but, oh those were the days!
A little part of me still wants this website to be a thing, I’d love to cringe and cry in the corner about how *cool* I thought I was back in 2007.

2.  Stardoll
stardoll
For anybody who isn’t familiar with Stardoll, it used to be called Paperdoll Heaven before the website was updated. Stardoll allows anybody (over a certain age) to sign up to the website to create their own doll, dress it the way you want and give it your own image. It enables chances to meet new friends and build on what friendships you have got. Stardoll also has a great celebrity dressing up range. Hundreds of celebrities have been made and are able to be styled in anyway you wish! I used to waste so much time on this website making my fave celebs look amazing and adding them to my album, and making not so favourable celebs look rubbish.

3. Myspace
myspace
Myspace was the sensation that we all flocked too after the hype of Piczo. Where our friendships were ranked on who appeared at the top of our profiles. We used to post our fave but also our now known as ‘cringey’ songs. Looking back on our profiles brings nothing but great memories.. and a couple blushing faces!

4. Mokitown
 mokitown
Anyone remember spending time on this website? You used to be a little Moki and even though the site’s intentions was to bring safety awareness to cyberspace, but we all still had fun! It was a fun and exciting way of taking part of activities and meeting new friends, virtual friends of course! This website was so so simple, yet I remember spending so much time with my school friends on this website. God know what fun we got out of it now I look back, hey ho.

5. Bebo
bebo
Rather similar to Myspace Bebo was able to arrange your friends as to your ‘top friends’ list on your main page profile. Remember the daily dose of ‘share the luv’? Oh now if popularity was on your side, then you received plenty luvin’! I remember arguing with friends if somebody appeared higher than me on their top 15 profiles. Bebo was the website that stretched and strained the greatest of friendships.

6. Club Penguin

Now I’m sure everybody played this game, and if you said you never then I’m pretty sure you’re lying. It’s a guilty pleasure at least! I never used to play this, but a group of lads I was friends with in year 7 used to love this website, and even played it at school finding a new unblocking server that enabled them to.

7. Habbo Hotel

Hours of my life was spent on this website, playing games and meeting to hang out with my friends via the game. The big conversations were a little hard to keep up with, especially if you were in a busy room with conversations flowing constantly. It’s all part of the fun I suppose. No secrets could be shared on Habbo! The snowball game was a personal fave of mine, playing against others online, hide from that flying snowball!

Can you think of any other websites you may have loved when you were younger? Or if Bebo, or Piczo, etc were still available now, do you think you would still use them?

Bebo, Stardoll and Club Penguin were my absolute favourites back in the day. I used to come home everyday from school and head straight onto Bebo to update my top friends lol. Oh the good ol’ memories!

Great post! Really took me back to my childhood. Piczo and MySpace were the ones I used most lol! If they were still around I guess they would have big competition with social media sites such as Instagram and twitter. So I’m not sure if I would still have them. Look forward to reading more from you in the future x

First of all I would like to say terrific blog!
I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask
if you don’t mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your head before
writing. I’ve had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out.
I do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the
first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted simply
just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or tips?
    Thanks! http://w-w-b.net.ua/
