6 Taylor Swift Songs For Every Break Up Mood

Luckily for us Taylor is always here for us gals no matter what drama we are going through in our lives.
I wonder who is actually there for Taylor though through her problems? Maybe she pulls out her own albums and puts them on loop..

Here are 6 of her songs that match every mood and situation.

1. Teaches you to: Just be yourself
Song: Shake It Off
Meaning: Not everybody in the world is going to be your best friend, whether that is at school, uni and even work. There is always going to be someone who will try to put you down, or make lies about you.
Look at Taylor and Katy Perry, they have had some public feuds recently. Instead Taylor decides to surround herself with people who inspire her and make her feel confident. So next time someone is trying to get you down – simply shake it off!
Lyric I love: “Just think while you’ve been getting down and out about the liars and the dirty, dirty cheats of the world. You could’ve been getting down to this sick beat.”

2. When you are in a relationship that just wont work
Song: Style
Meaning: The song is mainly aimed towards Harry Styles and their impossible relationship. Calling their time together a “long drive, that could end in burning flames or paradise.”  We have all been with someone that we really need to let go due to a failed relationship that should not continue, but we would rather re-live the relationship again, again and again.
Just because the two of you are perfect together, and seem to somewhat match it does not mean that it is a healthy relationship to continue, unfortunately.
Lyric I love: I say, “I heard, that you’ve been out and about with some other girl, some other girl. He says, “What you’ve heard is true but I Can’t stop thinking about you,” and I… I said, “I’ve been there, too, a few times.”

3. That’s it. It’s the end. Forever.
Song: We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
Meaning: Well I cannot put the meaning of this song any clearer than the title. Taylor’s on off relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal took a strain on poor Tay, until she has finally had enough and decided to call off the relationship with this very clear song.
If you are in a relationship that is on and off more times than a lightbulb then just do the best thing in the long run and end things. Easier said than done though, I know.
Lyric I love: I say, “I hate you,” we break up, you call me, “I love you.”

4. Feeling carefree
Song: 22
Meaning: Taylor made the song fifteen to express how she felt when she was fifteen years old, and falling for the wrong boys. She then followed the song when she was 22 and feeling more mature with her love life. When you are 22 and having life experiences you are more confident and brave to tackle situations. 22 is all about being more carefree compared to being fifteen, and why not!?
Lyric I love: “Tonight’s the night when we forget about the heartbreaks. It’s time.”

5. When you can’t get over him
Song: Red
Meaning: This song is mainly about her ex flame (again), Jake Gyllenhaal and how Swift is finding it difficult to get over him. There is a large use of colours in this song;
Blue: Feeling emotional and upset
Grey: When things are looking pretty dull
Red: When everything is intense, used to express happy emotions at the start of the relationship and angry ones at the end.
So when you are stuck on somebody and finding it difficult to move on, you go through all of the emotions expressed as colours that are mentioned in this song.
Lyric I love: “Moving on from him is impossible when I still see it all in my head. In burning red”

6. Going through your first break up
Song: Last Kiss
Meaning: Last kiss is like writing a letter to that one person you have recently split up with and explaining how they made you feel. The verses of the song is about Taylor reminiscing all of those memories you have shared with that person. You go through all of these emotions at the same time, anger, confusion, rejection, frustration and sadness of losing the one person you love with all your heart.
Lyric I love: “And I hope the sun shines. And it’s a beautiful day. And something reminds you, You wish you had stayed. You can plan for a change in weather and time, But I never planned on you changing your mind.”

Can you add to this list? Or do you completely disagree? Tell me what you think.

I love her last 3 albums and Reputation is amazing. I also wrote an album review on it, go and check it out if you want. I love her new Songs, but I Knew You Were Trouble and Bad Blood are amazing.

I’ve never been the biggest Taylor Swift fan, and I’d forgotten quite how many songs she wrote about breaking up with people.. 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ I think my favourite of the ones you’ve listed is 22, I’m definitely looking forward to being cliche and posting the lyrics next year when I finally turn 22! 🙊
